The City of Long Beach in cooperation with Metro and California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) District 7 is constructing a new soundwall along northbound I-605, just north of the Los Angeles-Orange County line.
The wall will be located between Coyote Creek and Spring Street and is intended to shield the adjacent El Dorado Lakes condominium community from freeway noise. The design effort required soundwall design, grading, utility, drainage, irrigation, and electrical design and close coordination with Caltrans staff. We coordinated with Caltrans Noise, Hazardous Waste, Landscape Design, Maintenance and Permits staff to ensure their requirements were met. The project required close coordination with Caltrans staff including the Noise & Vibration Branch, Hazardous Waste Branch, Maintenance staff, Landscape Design staff and Office of Permits. The 100 percent plans were recently reviewed by Caltrans and the final plan revisions are underway.
