Moffatt & Nichol was selected by Orient Overseas (International) Limited Ltd. to act as a technical and market advisor for the proposed sale of the Long Beach Container Terminal (LBCT) in the Port of Long Beach. Moffatt & Nichol assessed LBCT’s current market position and future cargo growth opportunities, through various shipping, hinterland and competitive analyses. The Moffatt & Nichol technical team evaluated current site conditions and operational performance and advised on the asset’s future operational improvements and the Capex required to service cargo growth expectations. The operational and automation system issues at the terminal were also evaluated.
