Moffatt & Nichol Welcomes Shane Phillips

Shane is a principal coastal engineer with more than 27 years of experience. He joins us as business unit leader for our Seattle office, where Shane is an ACOPNE Board Certified Civil Engineer in Coastal and Ports Engineering, with experience that focuses on planning and engineering design of projects located on inland waterways, lakes, rivers and coastal environments. He has completed more than 300 planning studies and engineering design for water resources and coastal projects in 10 states and six countries. Shane’s work comprises projects involving small craft harbors, waterfront parks, navigation and dredging, and marine terminals, as well as ecosystem restoration, offshore renewables, shoreline stabilization and flood protection.

Prior to joining Moffatt & Nichol, Shane worked for professional consulting and engineering firms in the Pacific Northwest. Shane earned his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Washington State University and a Master of Infrastructure Planning and Management from the University of Washington. He is a licensed professional engineer in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Texas, and Louisiana.
